Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

Our Mechanical Engineers design mechanical products and systems for the Turbomachinery industry. The engineer is responsible for static & dynamic design, and the analysis of mechanical equipment.  The engineer will work on problems where analysis data requires evaluation of variable factors.  The engineer must exercise judgment with the use of defined practices in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining viable solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

This Mechanical Engineer position will work both with a team and at times individually to develop mechanical designs that fulfill typical specifications for turbomachinery equipment.  The engineer will develop and create the necessary documentation that will ensure the design is built to proper specifications.  The engineer will collaborate with fellow engineers and company personnel to successfully fulfill the needs of the project.

  • Evaluates mechanical systems by designing and conducting research studies; applying principles of mechanics, vibration, stress analysis and FEA, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
  • Develops mechanical designs by studying/understanding design requirements; Create engineering documentation and drawings with adequate, cost effective geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
  • Works within industry and governmental standards and regulations for safety, relevant for the turbomachinery industry.
  • Assist in the assembly/disassembly of complex high precision machinery.
  • Inspection/Quality Control – Examine production parts for defects or deviations from engineering specifications with precision inspection equipment including, but not limited to: Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Depth Gauges, Telescoping Gauges and Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) methods.
